Opossum Trapping and Removal in Baltimore County and Surrounding Areas
Prevention by Exclusion * Reasonable Rates * Licensed & Insured
Although they look like gigantic rats, opossums are actually related to kangaroos because they rear their young in pouches. Although odd looking, opossums are good animals with nice temperament.
Many homeowners run into problems with opossums due to their scavenging behavior. Opossums turn up in many unwanted areas, such as in sheds, crawl spaces, under decks, and in attics. They will also raid your trash cans.
Opossums are often carriers of different kinds of parasites such as lice, mites, ticks and fleas. The diseases carried by opossums include coccidiosis, toxoplasmosis, and salmonella. If an opossum is infected, the diseases can be transmitted to humans as well as other animals and house pets through their feces and urine. Rabies are rare in the opossum as they have some immunity to the rabies virus.
Opossums will often move away on their own, but if not, they are relatively easy to trap. Give us a call, we can help.
