Flying Squirrel Trapping and Removal While many think that the flying squirrels only exist in exotic locations, they are actually quite common in North America. Flying squirrel is the gray squirrels' sneaky little cousin. Flying squirrels are nocturnal and about 1/3 the size of the grays.

In Maryland, most often you will encounter the southern flying squirrel. They can enter your house through an opening the size of a quarter.

You will usually become aware of their presence in the dead of winter. Flying squirrels attempt to revisit the same nesting sites year after year. For removal, we use a special trap designed especially for flyers.

The only way to successfully remove flying squirrels is by trapping them and relocating them far away from your house. Trapping an occasional flying squirrel is not enough; we must make sure we have removed every single squirrel from your property.
