Prevention by Exclusion * Reasonable Rates * Licensed & Insured
Fascinating and beneficial, the bat is the only true flying mammal. All though several species inhabit Maryland, the little brown bat is the most common. Little brown bats have a wingspan of approx. 9-11 inches and body that is approx. 3 inches long. They can be dark brown, tan, or reddish brown. Common roosting area include the slats of vents, soffits, or attics. All bats are nocturnal and you will hear constant rustling and high pitch vocalizations throughout the night.
Bats can carry several diseases including rabies. Bat feces (if it accumulates) can harbor the fungus that causes Histoplasmosis, a respiratory disease that can sometimes be fatal in humans. Exclusion and colony relocation are the only legal methods for resolving bat issues. Because of their extraordinary homing instincts, releasing them a few miles away will not work. Bat exclusion work must be done with special care and must include: window shutters and spaces between soffits and walls.
Often large amounts of bat feces must be removed and then the area should be sprayed or fumigated for insect parasites. The bat bug, a close relative to the infamous bed bug, is a parasite of bats. Once the bats are removed, the bat bugs may attack humans.
Not only can we trap the bats, but we also can perform quality repairs to keep them out in the future. MHIC (home improvement) license authorizes us to do all necessary work to exclude the bats.

Have critters in your attic? Consider the following.
Animals defecate and frequently. Urine and feces can carry diseases. Here are a few:
Carried in the urine of white footed mice. Can produce flu-like symptoms and can progress causing serious respiratory problems.
It is a type of lung infection spread by the spores of the Histoplasma capsulatum fungus. It is commonly found in the feces of bats and birds and can cause serious respiratory issues for people with poor immune systems.
Raccoon Round Worm
Found in the small intestines of virtually every raccoon. The eggs are shed in the raccoon's feces and, if ingested, will hatch in the stomach and untimely migrate through the body often making its way into the brain where it can cause massive neurological damage.
Although the incidents of any of these disease are quite rare, but the possibility dose exist.

Bats often become infected with histoplasmosis, and, as a result, their excrements contain the histoplasma capsulatum fungus. Histoplasmosis spores become air born when/if the piles are disturbed.
The typical home loses about forty percent of its heat through the attic. Like it or not, the air in the envelope of your house and the attic are constantly intermingling. Depending on the barometric pressure outside and the pressure inside, house conditioned air and attic air are constantly moving back and forth. Your family is breathing dirty attic air or conditioned air is leaving through the attic floor.
How We Can Help
We remove old dirty insulation and put a foam skin on the attic floor to seal all cracks and blow in fresh insulation.
Attic insulation completely vacuumed and the whole area is sanitized. Every opening which can be used as an entry is closed and sealed.
In addition, we will install baffles between the rafters to allow adequate air flow and apply boric acid and silica gel to prevent insects from ever taking up residence in your attic again.
Once everything is sealed and all possible entries are closed, we blow in new insulation. The image shows newly blown-in R-49 fiberglass insulation.
A cleaner air and environment for your family, both humans and pets, and noticeable energy savings - all in one procedure!
